Yesterday’s post suggested that if you warm your hands by holding a cup of hot coffee, you will have “warmer” thoughts about the people you meet.
Even more importantly, you can train your hands (and other parts of your body) to become warm and/or relaxed through a number of mental and physical techniques.
Over the next week, a number of different techniques will be reviewed. Similar to medication, what works for one person may not work for another; it is important to tailor the techniques to fit your temperament. It is likely a combination of techniques will be most effective. These techniques include:
Autogenic training
Progressive relaxation
Visualization
Self-hypnosis
Biofeedback
Meditation
Breathing Techniques
Mindfulness training
Over the next week or so, these different approaches will be reviewed.
